Interested in STEM professoriate? Well TAMUS AGEP is for you.


This National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) operates to reduce the student's average time to degree, to increase the probability of successful completion of their doctorate, provide the preparation necessary to successfully compete for postdoctoral and faculty positions, and foster alliance-wide research and teaching collaborations.

Texas A&M University leads a TAMU System-wide alliance to support underrepresented students working to complete their doctorates in energy and sustainability and/or STEM related fields; subsequently transitioning to competitive postdoctoral and/or faculty positions.  This National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) operates to reduce the student's average time to degree, to increase the probability of successful completion of their doctorate, provide the preparation necessary to successfully compete for postdoctoral and faculty positions, and foster alliance-wide research and teaching collaborations.
 
The benefits students will receive for joining such an exciting program are the following:

  • Membership in the AGEP community-building and co-mentoring social network
  • Access to the Alliance-wide Fellowship and Research Funding Application Lab and Peer Writing Group (to improve writing of proposals, dissertations, scholarly publications, and communication with the public at large)
  • Access to apply for annual, participation- and performance-based retention bonuses ($1000 - $5000), provision of competitive, research mini-grants,
  • Access to apply for travel awards to participate in networking, research, and professional development conferences/workshops
  • Engagement in “practice-facilitated” teaching opportunities
  • Facilitation of student placement into internships, postdoctoral positions, or faculty position
